Night Blog

There were a lot of ways Elie changed throughout Night. The most obvious change was his religion. From the beginning of the book it is very evident that Elie is very religious, on the fifth page it says “Together we would read, over and over again, the same page of zohar. Not to learn it by heart but to discover but to discover within the very essence of divinity. And in the course of those evenings I became convince the Moishe the Beadle would help me enter eternity, into that time when question and answer would become ONE.” Those few sentences alone show how fixed he is on learning his religion and practicing it. Later in the book it is shown on page 67 that he is starting to lose his faith, it says “Blessed be God’s name? Why, but why would I bless Him? Every fiber in me rebelled. Because HE caused thousands of children to burn in his mass graves? Because He kept six crematoria working day and night, including Sabbath and the Holy Days? Because in His great might, He had created A...

1st Quarter Reflections

I believe that my first quarter in seventh grade went fairly well over all, but I’m not here to talk about all my classes but one in general. Can you guess? Ha... what other class than ELA would I be discussing? I’ll start boring you by jumping right in because I want to get this over with! The first question I’ll be covering is “What we’re some struggles you had first quarter in ELA?” Well... since you asked, for the most part I think I did a pretty good job, but if I had to talk about what struggles I had I’d definitely put... understanding. There were a lot of times where I was faced with a question and I didn’t know the answer and I was really confused, I’d sit at my seat thinking of what the question meant or how to answer it and eventually class would end and I’d have to do it for homework. Sometimes the questions would be spur of the moment and I’d have to rely on my table mates for the answer, of course I am fine with admitting that I don’t know something but when ...

OBBA: Life Lines Poem

They would corner me Far away from the supervisor  When I least expected it And beat me Till I escaped Or they had had enough I treated everyone As an angle But beauty was external  Money mattered And  So did skin color Sticks and stones Can break your bones But words Can often Do worse They can stifle Destroy And mutilate All of the beautiful  Hopeful Things inside of us But If you have enough desire To outwork the other students And NEVER give up You Can win the race someday I commented on  Will’s Blog ,  Emily E’s Blog , and  Clementines Blog .

AoW #2

Article of the Week:       One similarity between Of Beetles and Angles and Wildfire Breaks out Near Crowded Refugee Camp on Greek Island is that Mawi's family and the families of the refugees had to relocate because of war. This is indicated because in the article it states, "These children come from countries that are at war, where they have experienced extreme levels of violence and trauma," (5). This quote shows that, like Mawi's family, they had to flee their country because of war and take the trauma of the experience with them. In the book Mawi says that "He had fled our war-ravaged home a year earlier, driven out by the advancing Ethiopian army," (2). Mawi says that he, the father, Hailaeb, fled the war-ravaged home a year earlier, meaning that the home was not safe as war was raging around them.    The next paragraph will be about how war affects individuals and societies. War has many effects on people, for example in Wildfire Breaks out NearC...

The title of the book I am currently reading is Scythe , Scythe  is based in an utopian universe where you can’t really “die” (well you can kill yourself or get run over by someone or something but there are revival centers that can revive you and healing “nanaties” that everyone has in their blood that soothes that pain and heals the wound.) The only way you can die and never come back is if you get gleaned. Gleanings are carried out by scythes and only scythes. Scythes are above the law (most of them at least) but because of that they have to glean 5 people per week or the world will get overpopulated, but here’s the thing... no one who gets taken on as an apprentice by a scythe actually wants to be scythe and that’s the case for the two main characters Citra and Rowan (Rowan is a guy and Citra is a girl.) Rowan and Citra are each taken on as apprentices by Scythe Faraday, only one can be chosen, the other will just carry on with their normal life like nothing ever happened. ...

7th Grade Introduction

Welcome to my blog!!! Of coarse this is not my first post, it’s actually my 83rd post (haha...) but I have ventured into 7th grade and we are required to write an intro for our blog!!! I guess I’m not really sure what to write now... Okay! So, hi! I’m Ava, what’s that you say?! You want to learn more about me?!?! Sure!!! Well, obviously you learned that I am in seventh grade and I have been blogging for a while now. I love writing, it’s a place that I can find comfort and I really enjoy it when people read what I have to say, now don’t think that just because I love to write means I’m “good” at it, I try to improve my writing and I wouldn’t say I’m “bad” so I’ll just let you decide if I’m worthy of your time. I really want to be a well known actor when I grow up and I want to make people happy based on what or how I act, do you ever watch a show and you get really sad to the point where you start crying or you get really happy that you start smiling wildly as you stare at your screen y...
