Positives of the Week!

    A few days ago we did math MAP, I was really nervous because all the questions I was getting were really hard and I didn’t know the answer to any of them.  I didn’t finish in the two hours that we were given and I had to finish it in math, I was on the last question and I was really scared. I answered the last question and then I looked at my score, I was so happy. My heart soared at the sight of going up 15 points, I was at 250 and I was literally drawing smiley faces all over my work sheet. My week has been really good since that day and now I can only hope that the rest of my tests go as good as my math one.

        Yesterday I went over to my friends house after school, we took the bus like we always do and then we walked over to her house ( yes her house, surprising huh ), it smelled so nice outside fall really has started ( yay! ), we went inside and had a snack her mom gets donuts from her friend so we each got two mini donuts ( even though they were mini they were still really good ) we asked my friends mom for something to drink and she and her mom asked if we wanted apple juice we said yes and finished our food. WWII Nonfiction Reader Response

    I am a Star  by Inge Auerbacher is about a young, Jewish girl and her struggle to survive the Holocaust. To begin, Inge talks about the how the discrimination began in her town of Kippenheim when, “Some people began to say that Jews belonged to a different race and that Jews were racially inferior” (10). From this belief, many thing changes for the Jews including who could buy from them, deprivation of their German citizenship, where they could go, and what occupations they could have. Christians were forbidden to associate with the Jews, while some had no problem with this, others disobeyed and left food and saved important items for after the war. Inge then describes her experience as a child at the camp, “We slept on the floor or, if lucky, on straw-filled mattresses... The rooms were smelly and steamy in summer and freezing in winter... Welcome to my blog!!! Of coarse this is not my first post, it’s actually my 83rd post (haha...) but I have ventured into 7th grade and we are required to write an intro for our blog!!!
