Article of the Week: One similarity between Of Beetles and Angles and Wildfire Breaks out Near Crowded Refugee Camp on Greek Island is that Mawi's family and the families of the refugees had to relocate because of war. This is indicated because in the article it states, "These children come from countries that are at war, where they have experienced extreme levels of violence and trauma," (5). This quote shows that, like Mawi's family, they had to flee their country because of war and take the trauma of the experience with them. In the book Mawi says that "He had fled our war-ravaged home a year earlier, driven out by the advancing Ethiopian army," (2). Mawi says that he, the father, Hailaeb, fled the war-ravaged home a year earlier, meaning that the home was not safe as war was raging around them.
